根据国外媒体消息，微软宣布一系列东芝笔记本电脑不能升级使用Windows Vista。目前有至少13个型号的东芝电脑不能更新到Windows Vista。
Redmond表示虽然还不能找出不能更新的具体原因，但是这些型号已经满足了Vista配置的最小系统要求。
以下的型号东芝笔记本电脑不能更新Windows Vista：Satellite R15系列、Satellite L25系列、Satellite L2系列、Satellite M45系列、Satellite M55系列、Satellite M65系列、Satellite A70系列、Satellite A75系列、Satellite M30X系列, Satellite M35X系列, Satellite P35系列、Portege - M200系列 Tablet PC以及Tecra M2系列。
相比之下，东芝没有完全告知用户他们的设备并不能支持Windows Vista的事实。在东芝指导用户更新Windows Vista的网站上也并没有涉及到不能兼容Vista的产品列表，也没有提示用户有可能不兼容Vista的相关信息，为所有型号的电脑都提供了Vista的下载。
